Check out what’s new with bulk workflow features

This month, we began rolling out several new bulk features that help advertisers more easily make changes at scale across their accounts.  Today, we’re introducing improvements to bulk upload features that help advertisers upload multiple changes with simple spreadsheet editing.

With the improvements to bulk uploads, you can quickly:
+download spreadsheets and make changes offline
+upload the updated spreadsheet back into your account exactly where you want to make your changes, and
+make sure your changes are ready by using the new integrated previews and error-checking features

For example, if you have a set of keywords ready to upload to a particular ad group, you’ll be able to easily upload your lists of keywords into that ad group directly through the Edit menu. Your changes will be automatically applied to that ad group - helping you easily upload several changes, where and when you need them. You can access these upload features directly through the Edit menu on the Campaigns, Ad groups, and Ads and Keywords tabs (see image below).

Why Google and Apple Should Fear the new Microsoft

In decades of covering Microsoft , I don’t recall the company enjoying so much positive press at one time. They are literally transforming before our eyes. Here’s how:

Expanding its mobile presence: Office is universally used by hundreds of millions and finally making it available on iOS/iPad is a smart move, which came many years late. Perhaps the most important takeaway from this evolution is that Microsoft finally gets it – it has lost in the mobile OS war and had to buy Nokia (News  - Alert) as a last-ditch effort to not totally lose out on this space. But it is finally making the right moves to be relevant in a mobile world.

Optmyzr Launches Google Shopping Campaigns Setup Tool

The Shopping Campaign Splitter is designed to simplify the campaign structuring process.

here are many benefits of the new Shopping Campaigns structure that Google ushered in on September 1st, however, the setup process can be cumbersome and iterative, particularly if you have the same type of campaign structure across multiple campaigns. To help advertisers set up their Shopping Campaigns faster, Optmyzr has launched a tool called the Shopping Campaign Splitter.

The second Google Shopping campaign tool in Optmyzr’s lineup — the first being a bulk bidding tool called Shopping Bidder — the Shopping Campaign Splitter allows advertisers to define the campaign structure of a campaign (or multiple campaigns) upfront.

Using the tool, advertisers specify how they want their products grouped based on attributes in their Merchant Center feeds. The process prevents duplicate product targets being created so you don’t end up with products competing against themselves.

Once you determine the campaign structure you want, the tool will import the data accordingly from the Merchant Center feed that is linked to Optmyzr.

Advertisers can assign bids and exclusions more quickly, without the fear of overriding existing exclusions and custom bids (an easy thing to do in AdWords itself). So if you set a custom bid for a product target and then adjust the bids at a top category level, that product target bid will stay put.

Both Shopping Campaigns tools are part of Optmyzr’s monthly plans. Here’s a quick demo video from Optmyzr founder, Frederick Vallaeys.

Create Charts Using AdWords Scripts For Quick Insights

Using AdWords scripts to automatically generate reports will allow you to spend that time performing account optimizations.

Anyone trying to optimize their AdWords account undoubtedly spends a large amount of time looking at spreadsheets and generating Excel charts for slide decks. Using AdWords scripts to automatically generate these reports will allow you to spend that time performing the optimizations on your account.

The Charts class in AdWords Scripts might be the most underutilized in the bunch. In fact, just digging around the Google developer resources, there are really no examples of how to incorporate charts into your reporting.

Charts can be easily saved to your Google Drive account or inserted into your summary emails to get a sense of what you need to focus on quickly.

Google Rolling Out Consolidated Billing For AdWords MCC Users

New AdWords billing system for agencies and large advertisers combines several account invoices into one.

Over the weekend, Google announced the roll out of Consolidated Billing for AdWords users managing multiple accounts through an MCC (My Client Center).

The new billing system combines invoices for several accounts into one. Consolidated Billing will replace MDOs (Manager Defined Orders), which were only available upon request from a Google rep among other requirements.

Consolidated Billing is designed to be more flexible, allowing agencies and large advertisers, for example, options to set up accounting requirements by client, brand, product, division or product category. With just one Master Service Agreement, Consolidated Billing users can create budget orders in any account without a Google rep.

Invoices show spend for multiple accounts and are available for download at the end of the month or can now be set for email delivery.

Accounts will be automatically transitioned to the new billing system between now and the end of the year. MCC account holders will receive a notification when Consolidated Billing becomes available to them.
